Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how DREWQ uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies on the operator dashboard and public-facing pages. We keep cookie usage minimal. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. They allow the site to remember information between pages or between visits. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data in the browser but are not transmitted to the server automatically.

Cookies and browser storage are not used to track you across third-party websites. They are used only to keep DREWQ functional for authenticated operators.

2. Cookies & Storage We Use

We use a small number of strictly necessary items. We do not use any third-party advertising, analytics, or social media cookies.

session

Essential

Purpose

Maintains the authenticated operator session in the dashboard. Required to access protected routes.

Duration

Session: expires when the browser is closed, or after 8 hours of inactivity

csrf_token

Essential

Purpose

Protects dashboard form submissions against cross-site request forgery attacks.

Duration

Session: tied to the active session

ui_prefs (localStorage)

Functional

Purpose

Stores lightweight UI preferences such as sidebar state and table sort order. Keeps your dashboard layout consistent between visits.

Duration

Persistent: stored in browser localStorage until manually cleared

3. Cookies We Do Not Use

We do not place the following types of cookies on your device:

  • Analytics cookies: we do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or any similar behavioural analytics service.
  • Advertising cookies: we do not run advertising and do not place any ad-targeting or retargeting cookies.
  • Social media cookies: we do not embed social media widgets that set third-party cookies.
  • Fingerprinting scripts: we do not use canvas fingerprinting or any technique designed to identify your device beyond the session cookie.

4. Public Pages

The public-facing pages of DREWQ (landing page, documentation, reader guides, API reference, legal pages) do not set any cookies. They are statically rendered and do not require authentication or session management.

No cookie consent banner is shown on public pages because no non-essential cookies are placed. If you visit these pages without logging in, your browser stores no cookies from this platform.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies and browser storage through your browser settings:

  • Block all cookies: most browsers allow you to block cookies in settings. Note that blocking the session cookie will prevent you from logging in to the operator dashboard
  • Delete cookies: you can clear cookies at any time via your browser's history or privacy settings. This will log you out of the dashboard
  • Clear localStorage: browser developer tools allow you to inspect and clear localStorage entries. Clearing ui_prefs will reset dashboard preferences to defaults

Browser vendors publish their own guidance for managing cookies: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all provide cookie management in their privacy or security settings menus.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies or change how existing ones are used, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. If the change involves placing non-essential cookies for the first time, we will seek your consent before doing so.
